Hi! I am Jan McCarty. I feel blessed to have been the Superintendent's administrative assistant for Hawley ISD for 30 years. I did not attend Hawley Schools, however, I have lived in the Hawley community for almost 32 years. My husband Larry, is a 1967 graduate of Hawley High School. He served as a board member for Hawley for 12 years.

Our sons, Ryon and Chase, attended Hawley schools. Ryon, a 1989 graduate, went on to get his finance degree from HSU and is now owner of a Radio Shack. He and wife, Jennifer with their children (Will and Lauren) reside in Claremore, OK. Grandchildren are wonderful!

Chase graduated from Hawley in 1997 and later graduated from Southwest Texas State (Texas State at San Marcos) and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston with a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies. He is a PA at Baylor Hospital in Grapevine, Texas.

Through the years I have seen and experienced many outstanding improvements of our great school and community. It was a good school then and it remains that way today! The reason for that I believe is the hard work and determination of teachers, coaches, administrators, board members, and most of all parents and the students themselves. That saying goes for past and present. Many of our graduates have become successful in their chosen professions as well as their personal lives and I'm proud of each and every one of them. Proud to be a Bearcat!!!
